RULES FOR VISITING THE THEATER ON PODIL
- Admission to the performance is granted upon presentation of a ticket or invitation; the audience member is required to present it to the usher.
- The start time of the performance is listed on the theater’s website and on the ticket. The theater administration reserves the right to change the performance time, provided that advance notice is given on the website and social media. A delay in the start of the performance does not constitute grounds for a ticket refund.
- Admission to the auditorium is permitted after the first bell.
- Once the performance has begun, entry to the auditorium is not permitted.
- If a patron arrives late for a performance, the ticket is non-exchangeable and non-refundable, and the service is considered rendered.
- Performances are open only to individuals aged 8 and older. Children younger than 8 are not permitted in the theater, even if you plan to hold the child in your arms. Loud noises, lighting effects, and the emotional atmosphere of the performance may be unfamiliar or frightening to young children.
- If a paper ticket is lost or significantly damaged, the audience member will not be admitted to the performance; no replacement ticket will be issued, and the ticket price will not be refunded.
- The theater is not responsible for counterfeit tickets and will not accept claims regarding the resolution of such situations. To prevent the purchase of counterfeit tickets, we recommend buying them only at the theater box office or on the partner website kontramarka.ua
- Spectators must keep their tickets until the end of the performance.
- Audience members must occupy the seats indicated on their tickets.
- Audience members have the right to return pre-purchased tickets for a performance in the event of cancellation, replacement, or rescheduling of the performance within 14 (fourteen) days of the scheduled performance date.
- Ticket refund procedure: at the Theater box office, if the ticket was purchased at the Theater box office. You must present a valid ID, the ticket, and the receipt; on the website of the partner ticketing operator (kontramarka.ua), if the ticket was purchased online. The ticket refund procedure is published on the kontramarka.ua website.
- While visiting the Theater, audience members must adhere to the rules of conduct in public places and fire safety regulations, and treat the Theater’s property with care. Any property damage caused to the Theater by the actions of an audience member will be recovered from the responsible party in accordance with the law. If a spectator violates the rules of conduct or fire safety regulations, fails to respond to the administrator’s instructions, and refuses to leave the theater voluntarily, they may bebe forcibly removed from the building with the assistance of security personnel or the police. In such cases, the ticket price will not be refunded.
- Entry to the auditorium with outerwear, umbrellas, beverages, or food is not permitted.
- The Theater is not responsible for items left in clothing pockets or in other personal belongings deposited with the coat check, nor for items left unattended in the auditorium.
- If a spectator loses the coat check token issued to them, they are obligated to reimburse its cost in accordance with Article 973 of the Civil Code of Ukraine and the Theater’s Coat Check Rules.
- Before the performance begins, audience members must set their cell phones to silent mode.
- Video recording of performance segments lasting more than 30 seconds is prohibited in the Theater. Recording longer segments is permitted only with the administration’s authorization. The performance is subject to the law on the protection of copyright and related rights; those found in violation will be held liable.
- The theater’s coat check remains open for 30 minutes after the performance ends.
- In accordance with Kyiv City Council Resolution No. 1079/3912 of October 25, 2007, pets are not allowed in the auditorium. The only exception is guide dogs accompanying people with visual impairments.
- In accordance with the rules of conduct in public places, the following are prohibited in the theater: Smoking-smoking is prohibited inside the theater; Alcohol and narcotics—Entry while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited; Explosive materials—entering the theater with explosives or other hazardous substances is prohibited; Weapons – Bringing weapons is prohibited.
- In the event of an air raid alert or any other emergency that occurs while in the theater, audience members are required to strictly follow the instructions of the theater staff.
- Observe safety measures while visiting the Theater.
- If a “Red-Level Air Raid Alert” is sounded 30-60 minutes before the start of the performance, the performance will not begin. The performance will begin 30 minutes after the “air raid all-clear” signal is received or the threat level is lowered to “yellow.”
- If an “Air Raid Alert” is issued through the nationwide automated centralized notification system with a “yellow level” classification, the performance will begin at the time indicated on the ticket, and the performance will not be interrupted. In the event of a dangerous situation, the administration reserves the right to halt the performance and move the audience to a shelter.
- If the threat level changes to “red,” the performance will be suspended, and theatergoers will proceed to the theater lobby, which serves as a basic shelter. The performance will resume after the “air raid all-clear” signal is received or the threat level changes back to “yellow.”
- Depending on the duration, complexity, and nature of the performance, the administration may decide to perform a portion of the show in the shelter.
- If it is not possible to finish the performance, the administration may decide to end the event and reschedule the performance for another date. Information regarding the rescheduling of the performance can be found on the theater’s official website, Facebook, Instagram, and the online platforms of ticket vendors.
- Up-to-date information about the theater’s operations is available daily from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. by calling the information line at 068-456-56-02.

How can a wheelchair user attend a performance?
- When purchasing a ticket for a performance, a spectator who requires a wheelchair-accessible seat must select specially adapted seats these are marked with the international accessibility symbol on the seating chart. Please include your contact phone number in the contact form!
- By default, the theater removes seats from the auditorium so that a wheelchair can be placed in their place.
- If a patron in a wheelchair wishes to transfer to a theater seat, they must confirm the need to reserve a theater seat no later than 24 hours in advance. The phone number to contact the theater administration is 068-456-56-02.
- The theater can arrange for vehicles transporting audience members with disabilities to pull up to the main entrance; however, to do so, you must contact the administrator on duty on the information line at 068-456-56-02 immediately before arriving at the theater.

- If seats designated for audience members in wheelchairs have not been purchased 3 days before the performance date, the theater reserves the right to make them available for general sale.

How to attend a performance with audio description? (adaptation for people who cannot see the performance)
- One performance per month in the theater’s repertoire is presented with the additional option of audio description. The theater announces the title and date of the performance in advance on its social media channels and lists it on the program poster.
- The maximum number of audience members who can receive the audio description service is ten. The audio description service is provided free of charge. You can purchase a ticket for any seat in the auditorium. To avoid any misunderstandings, please call the information line at 068-456-56-02 in advance to confirm the availability of audio guides for your desired date.
- Audience members who wish to use the audio description service should arrive early (at 3:30 p.m. on weekends for performances at the New Stage, and at 1:30 PM on weekends for performances in the Igor Slavinsky Hall, and at 5:30 PM on weekdays for both venues) to receive a receiver and receive instructions on how to use it.
- Audio description begins 10 minutes before the performance starts, so please take your seats in the auditorium early so as not to miss the introduction to the set and costumes. Please note that sound quality depends on signal strength; the theater guarantees an uninterrupted signal only in the main auditorium.
- After the performance, please remain in your seats to return the receivers and, if you’d like, share your impressions.
How to attend a performance with captions? (adaptation for people who cannot hear the performance)
- One performance per month in the theater’s repertoire is presented with the additional option of closed captions. The theater announces the title and date of the performance in advance on its social media channels and lists it on the program poster.
- The maximum number of audience members who can access the captioning service is limited by the placement of the captioning screens. Audience members who require this service will be most comfortable sitting in row 7 or higher. The captioning service is provided free of charge.
- Audience members who wish to share their feedback on the captioning service are asked to speak with the usher after the performance. We would appreciate your comments.
